Trailer Not on the DVD: Sharky's Machine (1981, Burt Reynolds)
Not only do we still not have a decent, widescreen DVD or Blu-ray of Burt Reynolds' Sharky's Machine in this hemisphere, we also don't have this very effective theatrical trailer on the mediocre DVD we do have.
I have news for you, that isn't the only original theatrical trailer. The other trailer shown in theatres has no dialogue and is a work of art. All the scenes in the trailer I saw several times in 1981 in theaters, has brilliantly edited cuts from the movie- while "Street Life" plays-punctuating the action on display. It is one of the best trailers of the period.
I have news for you-There is another theatrical trailer; the best trailer I have ever seen. It has no dialogue but contains brilliantly edited cuts from the film punctuated by an intense version of "Street Life." That trailer should be used as a training tool on how to make a film and a trailer.

Thanks for the news, Robert. I do hope WB puts all of these trailers on the Blu-ray they are reportedly working on.
