The good bloke who runs the Wayward Cloud, a German blog, has been kind enough to mention me in the same breath as Robin Wood (I'll take it, even if I'm not in that league!) and actually seems to have read and watched just about everything I've published here. Herr or Frau Wayward Cloud, please drop me a line and thanks again for the extremely generous coverage!

Dear Ned Merrill,
whenever I research a film that I love or am interested in, I end up on your site. "The Swimmer" is one of my all-time favorites, as are "The Warriors", "Cruising" or "Assault on Precinct 13". It sometimes happened that when I thought about one particular film or actor they soon after materialized on your site: telepathic blogging. I also very much like your materialistic approach, there are no thumbs going up or down with you, no ideological wisecracking, but instead you salvage what is lost, collect it, put it in perspective, invite to further investigation. That's how it should be done.

That's very cool of you to say. Indeed, I strive more or less to collect, organize, and dust off films and filmmaking personalities who often seem to be in the "discard bin." I'll try to keep the telepathic thing going and have a closer look at your site. Unfortunately, as a non-German speaker, I'm forced to use the Google Translate tool, which doesn't really do justice to your stuff.

Dear Ned Merrill,
it’s me again, The Wayward Cloud. Last week I broke my 4-years long blog silence to announce a series I curated in a Hamburg cinema. It's called "Good Cops Bad Cops – American police movies from the 70s", you can read about it here (in German): http://wayward-cloud.blogspot.com/2018/10/acab-all-cops-are-beautifiul-on-film.html
We will screen a lot of films that you wrote about, e.g. "Cops and Robbers", a film that I will introduce in November. I have an idea that I want to consult you about, so if its all right with you, maybe you can send me an e-mail to the following address: bizarre.cinema@posteo.de. I will then explain my idea in further detail.
Thanx, The Wayward Cloud
