Gabba Gabba Hey!

From the time when I was a young lad who would still collect autographs at conventions like the Chiller Theatre and Fangoria Weekend of Horrors. Ms. Soles was very friendly from what I recall, this is going back 15 + years ago, and she added the great inscription without my prompting:

The pic comes from Danny Peary's Cult Movies. Autograph was obtained at the Chiller Theatre Expo in beautiful Secaucus, NJ.

I never was a big fan of the film Rock n' Roll High School even though I love the Ramones and P.J. Soles, particularly as Riff Randell.

Does anyone else immediately think of the Ramones when they hear the name of that Nickelodeon show Yo Gabba Gabba! ?

I love this film. I remember seeing it on TV back in the '80s and just being totally smitten with Ms. Soles (altho, for some reason I always had a crush on her best friend, Kate). Plus, any film that champions the Ramones as well as this one did is OK by me... that first scene which introduces the band as they come driving down the street and then walk the length of the ticket holders line-up is simply awesome.

Definitely a great promotion for the Ramones. Funny thing is, Soles was not really enamored with their music, from what I understand, but she sure was convincing as an uber-fan.

BTW, Kate was played by Dey Young, younger sister of Leigh Taylor-Young. She still does a ton of acting on TV, including an episode of MAD MEN. She's married into the Ladd family.

Wow, I did know that about Ms. Young. She also had a small but recognizable cameo in STRANGE INVADERS, an underappreciated '80s SF film that is kinda cool.

That's awesome that she also did a spot on MAD MEN. Love that show and it reminds me that I really need to catch up on the last season. D'oh!
