As New York experiences a heatwave more intense than we've seen in awhile, what better time than now to pay homage to one of the most accurate depictions of what can happen in the city when it gets overheated...
The recently acclaimed documentary about Dog Day co-star John Cazale, I Knew It Was You has been picked up by Oscilloscope Laboratories who will release the DVD.
Yeah, I am stoked to see that Cazale doc. The filmmaker responsible has said that the DVD will have all kinds of extras, more interview footage/stories. Can't wait!
I love Lumet, esp. his police corruption films set in NYC. Q&A is such an underrated flick and PRINCE OF THE CITY seems all but forgotten.
Good to hear about the extras on the DVD seeing that the original doc is only about 40 minutes.
As I think we've discussed before, I agree that the police corruption films of Lumet certainly deserve a lot of love, particularly PRINCE OF THE CITY, and I'm definitely thinking of them when I view (and enjoy) an episode of THE SHIELD or THE WIRE.

Great behind the scenes shot and terrific news on the Cazale doc!
Indeed! Can't wait to see that doc as I missed it on HBO and in theaters.
