heh! In a weird coincidence, I just re-watched THE FOG over the weekend. Man, I love Carpenter/Dean Cundey's compositions! The framing is so well-done and the camerawork amazing. I grow to appreciate this film the more times I see it.
I bought the DVD very cheaply fairly recently, but still haven't sat down to watch it. Haven't seen it since I was a kid on pan-n-scan VHS around 25 years ago.
Carpenter is a master of widescreen composition, especially in the 70s/80s. I sure wish he'd do one more great movie. THE FOG is terrific to look at, and has one of the best endings ever.
Just reminded me that I need to pop in that FOG DVD I picked up so cheaply a little while back. My last full viewing was probably over 20 years ago on a cropped VHS.
